Our Story Reclaimed & rustic designs that inspire elegance in everyday life. Proudly created in Greenleaf, WI. Joel’s Antiques first began in a rural town near the eastern shores of Wisconsin. For years Joel and Marilyn were working together in construction, but eventually, the economy fell apart. Fortunately, as time flew by, Joel discovered a new passion; little did they know, that same passion would turn into Joel’s Antiques and Reclaimed Decor. During their time in construction, they often worked with repairing barns. They noticed that many barns no longer had any purpose. Many were old family farms that were no longer functioning and often the families didn’t want them. So while they were still working in construction they took down the old barns and used that lumber to heat their home. After a long 20+ years in construction, Joel started to have major back problems. They realized they needed to try something new because Joel needed to stop working in construction and the economy wasn’t doing well. So, he used the old barn boards to make some picture frames. “List these on eBay,” he said to her. The picture frames sat on their shelves and collected dust. None of them sold. However, at the same time, Marilyn listed a shelf he had made for her out of a barn beam. It sold immediately. “Make some more of these,” she told him. In 2011, this was the official start of their new venture— Joel’s Antiques and Reclaimed Decor, LLC. This company started as just two people but we are currently a team of six men and women working together to make this business as great as it can be.
